This event was a perfect way to kick off my second trip to Japan. The headliners are some real A-List DJs in Japan. DAOKO and TeddyLoid are legends in the anime scene; DAOKO as a vocalist, and TeddyLoid as a producer. If you’re looking at the flyer, you’ll see 中田ヤスタカ, or Yasutaka Nakata. To some people he may be relatively unknown, but he is maybe one of the most accomplished producers in the 21st century in Japan. Yasutaka Nakata is the composer and producer for all works done by Perfume, Capsule, and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu. For anyone uninformed on Japanese Pop music, these 3 names are some of the most legendary names in J-Pop, and it’s insane that he produced all 3 of them. It was such an honor to see him DJ live alongside TeddyLoid, tofubeats, and more inside of a small club in Tokyo.

Along with a star-studded lineup as far as the Japanese music scene goes, the secondary floors were also full of energy. Once again I was able to catch my friend TANUKI play one of his signature Neurofunk sets, then race back to the main floor to catch the headliners. The bass was turned up a tad too much, but the energy of the crowd and the sets being played made it a bit easier to ignore. The party went all the way to 4 AM, an hour before train system in Tokyo starts running it’s first trains, so we spent the night listening to set after set before wandering over to a 24/7 ramen joint for some quality afterparty food before we caught the first train back to our Airbnb.
